Call for Proposals – Training Needs Assessment

News | 19/09/10

The International Gorilla Conservation Programme (IGCP) is a coalition programme of three international conservation organizations, which was formed in 1991 to ensure the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla and its regional afromontane and high altitude forest habitat. The three organizations, African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), Fauna & Flora International (FFI) and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) formed the coalition on the principle of an equal partnership, collaboratively addressing the enormous conservation challenges in the region.

The programme operates in the three countries that share the habitat of the mountain gorillas: the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Rwanda and Uganda, and works in close partnership with the protected area authorities of the three countries (ICCN in DRC; RDB in Rwanda and UWA in Uganda).

One of the IGCP’s strategy is to support protected areas authorities (PAAs) by enhancing capacity of protected areas’s staff trough capacity building.

As part of capacity building, emphasis has been put in enhancing knowledge and skills of staff involved in Conservation and Natural Resources Management through intensive training package enables them to perform effectively and efficiently and enhance their capacity to improve management of protected areas.
It is against this background that IGCP is seeking a service of an experienced consultant (Firm or Individual) to carry out a comprehensive Training Needs Assessment (TNA) that will collect all information about how to equip the Rwandan conservation workforce with sufficient knowledge, skills and attitudes so as to develop a training strategy that will be used by conservation institutions to build more systematically the capacity of conservation staff within RDB. For more details please refer to the attached TORs (click here for Word document) and consult IGCP website: www.igcp.org.

Interested bidders are requested to submit their full proposals (both technical and financial) and other documents judged important at IGCP’s office in Kigali; Off Boulevard de l’Umuganda, Opp. Parliament & Next to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. P.O.Box 931 by September 30th 2010 at 10:00am
